West Yorkshire Police reveals shocking number of animal incidents in past 24 hours

West Yorkshire Police has revealed the number of animal related incidents there have been in the region in the past 24 hours.

Between around 5pm on Friday to the same time on Saturday, there have been 31 animal related incidents in the West Yorkshire Police region.

These include two loose farm animals, eight loose horses, 16 dog related incidents and five other incidents.

The force also reported that in the past five days there have been three stolen dogs.

These are a chihuahua from the LS16 area - crime reference number 13210276066, a jack russell from Allerton Bywater - crime reference number 13210276718 and a cane corso from the BD9 area in Bradford - crime reference number 13210276689.

Officers said there may also have been things reported directly to local wildlife officers that aren't included in this report.

The West Yorkshire Police Wildlife team tweeted: "In the last 24 hours there have been 31 incidents involving animals across the force area 2 x Loose farm animal 8 x Loose horses 16 x Dog related incidents 5 x Other.
