West Yorkshire Police release information on what to do if you crash in the snow in Leeds

Police are receiving hundreds of calls about crashes across the region this morning.

However, the force urged drivers to exchange details with the other driver and avoid calling 999 if there is no obstruction in the road or injury.

Call handlers said they are getting 'many calls of this nature to 999' this morning.

The contact management centre tweeted: "If you have a road traffic collision with no obstruction in the road and no injury you do not need to ring us on 999.

"You need to exchange details with the other driver.

"We are getting many calls of this nature this morning due to the weather.

"Please drive safe."
