West Yorkshire Police operation in Rothwell stops 45 vehicles in one foggy night

The operation stopped 45 vehicles in the fog in Rothwell on Friday night.

The vehicles stopped included:

- 1 person arrested for driving whilst over the permitted limit

- 1 disqualified driver

- 2 people driving with no insurance

- 3 people with vehicle defects - stopped under the Vehicle Defect Rectification Scheme

- 5 drivers reported using a Traffic Offence Report

- 3 vehicles seized

- 3 for Form A firearms intelligence

A tweet from the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit said: "We had an operation in Rothwell last night - 45 vehicles stopped – It was extremely foggy however 1 x arrest OPL 1 disqualified driver 2 No insurance 3 VDRS 5 TOR DVLA Seizure 3 Vehicles seized 3 x Form A – Firearms intel #team2"
