Violent disorder with 'bladed weapons' outside Hemsworth primary school - police appeal
Police in Wakefield are appealing for witnesses and further information after an incident of violent disorder took place in outside a Hemsworth primary school yesterday (November 19).
The incident happened at around 2:50pm.
Two groups, believed to consist of three men each, were involved in the confrontation on Highfield Road where weapons, some bladed, are thought to have been used.
During the course of this incident, a separate vehicle was rammed as one group of suspects made off.

Some of the suspects are believed to have fled in BMW while an Audi remained at the scene.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in custody.
Superintendent Alan Travis said: “This was a serious incident which took place outside a primary school when parents were getting ready to collect their children.
“As such, I would like to thank the school for its quick response in ensuring that pupils remained safely within the confines of the school. I would also like to add that we don’t believe that pupils or parents were the intended target of this attack.
“No children were injured. But it was a distressing scene for young children to see and for parents to experience when collecting their children from school.
“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, the circumstances leading up to it, or from anyone who may have captured the incident on CCTV or mobile phone.”
