Two men arrested for murder after man dies in Dewsbury Road stabbing

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed on Dewsbury Road in Beeston.

Police were called to Premier supermarket at 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday) after a 40-year-old man was stabbed outside the store.

He was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.

Two men, aged 30 and 35, were arrested this morning on suspicion of murder in relation to the incident.

A 36-year-old man was also arrested this morning on suspicion of earlier linked offences of aggravated burglary and robbery.

All three remain in custody.

Detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

A large police scene is in place on Dewsbury Road at the junction with Burton Avenue and Dobson Place while officers conduct forensic examination.

The Premier supermarket remains closed and a row of terraced houses on Dobson Place are cordoned off by officers.
