Two boys on bicycles taken to hospital after being hit by motorist on King Lane

Two teenagers were taken to hospital after being hit by a car in north Leeds.

Police were called to King Lane, near to the junction with Nursery Lane, just before 6.30pm yesterday (Sunday).

The two boys, both aged 14, were riding bicycles.

They had been hit by the driver of a blue Ford Focus.

They were taken to hospital but their injuries are not thought to be serious.

The driver stopped at the scene and was spoken to by police officers.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 6.28pm yesterday (7/3) police were called to a road traffic collision in King Lane, Leeds, near to the junction with Nursery Lane.

"The collision involved two boys on bicycles and a blue Ford Focus.

"The boys, both aged 14, were taken to hospital to be checked over but were believed to have only slight injuries.

"The driver stopped at the scene and has been spoken to by officers and enquiries are ongoing into the incident."
