Wakefield thug twice knocked out woman's teeth in sickening attacks

Thug has a history of violence

A thug who knocked out his partner’s tooth during a flurry of punches, later knocked out her new cosmetic tooth during a second attack.

Kallum Bruines-Larkin was told by the judge at Leeds Crown Court that he had a “propensity for violence”, with 20 previous convictions for 51 offences, including 17 for attacks on people.

The 20-year-old had been arguing with the woman on September 20 last year, left her flat, then returned in the early hours demanding to be let in.

When she relented, he punched her to the head five times knocking out her front tooth.

He smashed her TV and punched her to the floor, before kicking her and stamping on her.

As she called for help he grabbed her and told her he would “finish her off”. He punched her dog and smashed her mobile phone.

During another argument in March of this year, he began to punch her with both fists, damaging the dental bridge she had fitted in place of her original tooth.

He then stole her phone and left.

Bruines-Larkin, of Aysgarth Drive, Wakefield, was later arrested and interviewed, but denied wrongdoing.

He later admitted two counts of ABH, one of criminal damage and one of theft. He appeared in court this week over a video link from HMP Doncaster.

Mitigating, Glenn Parsons said Bruines-Larkin’s offending was a “sad reflection of where he is in life”.

He said he can be polite but struggled to manage his emotions. He said he came through the care system after being neglected as a child and also struggled with drugs.

Mr Parsons added: “There was no justification whatsoever for the assaults. He has to learn behaviour that allows him to walk away from conflict.”

Judge Simon Phillips KC jailed him for 30 months and gave him an indefinite-length restraining order to keep him away from the victim.
