Thug jailed for attacking ex-girlfriend with pint glass then punching man during violence at Leeds pub

Nathan Christie, 28, also punched a 64-year-old man who challenged him for attacking the woman during the incident at the New Bay Horse, in Hunslet.
Leeds Crown Court heard how the attack took place at the pub on Woodhouse Hill Road on October 6, 2019.

Hide AdIan Cook, prosecuting, said Christie became aggressive when the woman tried to talk him.


He attempted to throw the contents of his pint glass at her before hitting her to the side of the face with it.
Christie then punched the woman in the face.
She suffered two cuts near to her ear.
Christie shouted abuse at the man before punching him to the ground.
Both victims needed hospital treatment after the attack.
Christie, of Church Row, Kirkgate, Leeds, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Hide AdHe has previous convictions for violence and sending a malicious communication.
Mr Sutcliffe said his client had been diagnosed with ADHD and is vulnerable due to mental health difficulties.
Judge Neil Clark told Christie that the offences were too serious to impose anything other than an immediate custodial sentence.
He was jailed for 21 months.
