'Three-strike' law sees Leeds drug dealer hit with tougher five-year jail sentence after he was caught with crack cocaine and heroin worth more than £4,000

Kieran Blair, who has served two sentences in the last four years for dealing Class A drugs, was caught again after police obtained a warrant to search premises on Kentmere Avenue in Seacroft on December 17 last year
Leeds Crown Court heard officers found 22-year-old Blair at the property, along with his partner and her five-year-old son.

Hide AdHelen Chapman, prosecuting, said officers found a container in the main bedroom filled with wraps of white and brown powder.
They also found white powder in a child's cup and £1,335 in cash hidden in the pocket of a pair of shorts and a dressing gown.
The substances were found to be heroin and crack cocaine with a value of more than £4,500.
He had been out on licence when he was arrested for the latest offences.

Hide AdBlair, of East Dene Road, Seacroft, admitted two charges of drug dealing and possessing criminal property.
He appeared for his sentencing hearing via video link from HMP Leeds.
Mark Shanks, mitigating, said Blair had spent most of his adult life behind bars.
He said that he has struggled to find work as a plumber and "fell into his old ways" but was keen to have a "proactive life".
He added that his partner is also pregnant with his baby.

Hide AdHe said: "Peddling Class A drugs brings misery and death to the streets of our cities.
"You are only 22. It's a great shame that at your age you are acquiring your third conviction.
"If you do it again, the sentence will in double figures and you can have no complaints about that."
A Proceeds of Crime Act hearing will be held on May 24 to determine what will happen to the cash seized during the drug bust.
