Three people have been arrested after police officers were assaulted in Harehills.

Police were first called to Sandhurst Terrace at 12.15pm, to reports of a woman having been assaulted by another woman.

Officers arrested a woman on suspicion of assault from a house on Dorset Mount.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "A number of apparent family members were then involved in a disturbance in the street during which two officers were assaulted but not seriously injured.

"Three people were arrested on suspicion of offences including assaulting emergency workers and obstructing police."

The woman who was initially assaulted has been taken to hospital.

Her injuries are not considered life threatening.

A scene is currently in place on Dorset Mount as police investigate the scene and pictures show a large police cordon in place stretching to Dorset Road.
