Police have put up a cordon in Leeds city centre and arrested two men.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that it has arrested two men as part of an 'ongoing investigation'.

The force did not specify what the men were arrested on suspicion of.

The statement from police comes after passers by spotted police patrols and a cordon under a bridge close to Wellington Street, apparently near to a group of rough sleeper tents.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are carrying out enquiries on Wellington Street as part of an ongoing investigation in which two men have been arrested."
