It comes as data obtained in a Freedom of Information request to West Yorkshire Police (WYP) showed that 150 dogs were recorded as stolen from the county between January 2020 and February 2021.
Of the dogs stolen, just 28 were recovered by the police.

1. Staffordshire Bull Terrier - 16
A total of 16 Staffordshire Bull Terrier dogs were stolen in West Yorkshire between January 2020 and February 2021, according to police figures.

2. French Bulldog
A total of seven French Bulldog dogs were stolen in West Yorkshire between January 2020 to February 2021, according to police data.

3. Cocker Spaniel
A total of six Cocker Spaniel dogs were stolen between January 2020 and February 2021, according to West Yorkshire Police figures.

4. Yorkshire Terrier
A total of six Yorkshire Terrier dogs were stolen between January 2020 and February 2021, according to West Yorkshire Police data.

5. Bulldog
A total of four Bulldogs were recorded as stolen during January 2020 and February 2021.

6. Pug
A total of four pugs were stolen between January 2020 and February 2021, according to West Yorkshire Police figures.
