A teenager was arrested after police found him carrying a large serrated hunting knife.

Officers on patrol in Harehills stopped the boy on Tuesday, May 19.

When they searched him they found the knife.

He was arrested.

West Yorkshire's Operation Jemlock Team, which tackles violent and knife crime in West Yorkshire, said: "Officers from #OpJemlock were on patrol in the Harehills area of Leeds and had cause to stop and search a 17 year old who was found with the knife shown in the image.

"He was promptly arrested, and later charged with the offence."
