Standstill traffic jams for 'miles' in Leeds city centre as three vehicles crash on Inner Ring Road

A crash in Leeds which involved three vehicles has caused traffic jams across the city centre this afternoon (Wednesday).

West Yorkshire Police were called at 2.15pm today to reports of a crash on the Leeds Inner Ring Road westbound - A58(M).

The crash involved three vehicles.

A report from someone who had been driving on Woodhouse Lane at the time said 'traffic was at a standstill' and that they had been sitting in it for at least '30 minutes'.

Another said they had 'never seen so much traffic backed up for miles'.

An ambulance went to the incident and confirmed there were minor injuries to those involved.

The road has now been cleared and has been reopened.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Called at 14.16pm to reports of a collision.

"Road traffic collision involving 3 vehicles.

"Ambulance did attend but confirmed minor injuries.

"Road now cleared and reopened."
