Stalker wore pink bra and rammed car to unnerve Leeds ex partner

A stalker who tried to get his ex’s attention by wearing a pink bra later rammed into her car.

Sajjad Sheikh would send pictures of himself dressed in women’s underwear.

The 38-year-old was jailed at Leeds Crown Court after he admitted charges of stalking causing serious alarm or distress and dangerous driving.

After their relationship ended he would call her “constantly” either from his number, or from a withheld number. He would make threats of violence.

On one occasion he attended at her friend’s address dressed in the pink bra and was in the garden staring at the window. Her friend called the police.

But matters came to a head on February 7 this year when he sent his former partner a video of himself driving, saying he was coming to her Leeds home to break her door down and “break her face”.

She arrived home and when she saw him there, she attempted to drive off, but he drove directly at her car, crashing into her and crushing her car against a lamppost.

A male passenger exited her car and Sheikh drove at him to run him down, but he was able to move and Sheikh smashed into her car for a second time.

Sheikh then called the police himself and claimed his ex had rammed him.

The incident was caught on CCTV disproving Sheikh’s claims.

He appeared in court over a video link from HMP Leeds this week, where he was being held on remand.

Sheikh, of Tagore Court, Bradford, has eight previous convictions for 17 offences, including 10 driving matters.

This included GBH following a road-rage incident.

Mitigating, Celine Kart conceded he had an “unenviable record” but added: “He is remorseful and wishes me to make that clear.

“It’s clear he is ashamed and it’s quite dishonourable to find himself in these circumstances.”

She said he had “taken steps” while on remand, having taken maths and English courses, that there had been no contact with the victim since that day and had no desire to resume any relationship.

Judge Ray Singh told Sheikh: “You have not been able to accept the end of the relationship.

“You have made her life extremely difficult.”

He described the vehicle-ramming incident as “horrific”.

He jailed him for 18 months and gave him a 27-month driving ban. He must also take an extended driving test to get his licence back.
