Sex attack victim felt violated by 'dirty old pervert' Leeds Crown Court told

David Fallowfield, 64, sexually assaulted the woman aged in her 40s in Leeds in the early hours of September 11 2020.

Robert Stevenson, prosecuting, said the woman was "distressed and tearful" after the assault and called Fallowfield a "dirty old pervert."

Mr Stevenson said: "She feels violated by the offence."

Fallowfield, of Inglewood Drive, Seacroft, admitted sexual assault.

Fallowfield has ten previous convictions for sexual offences committed between 1988 and 2004.

They include four convictions for indecent exposure and one for making an obscene phone call.

In 1996 he was convicted of indecent assault on a child under 14 and gross indecency with a child under 14.

In 1997 he was jailed for 27 months after being convicted of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14.

In 2002 Fallowfield was convicted of breaching his sexual offender notification requirement.

And in 2004 he was jailed for two years for two child sex offences.

Andrew Semple, mitigating, said: "There is no indication he has fallen back into the malign interest in children.

"There is a long period of time for which he has been offence free."

Mr Semple said Fallowfield, who is in poor health, was drunk when he committed the offence, adding: "For that period of time his drinking had spiralled very much out of control."

Mr Semple added: "He is estranged from his family and has very few genuine friends."

Jailing Fallowfield for 16 months, Judge Robin Mairs told him: "I accept that you haven't fallen back into the offending against children and your reoffending is no doubt due to your alcohol consumption."

Judge Mairs added: "You treated her with contempt."

Fallowfield's name will be on the sex offender register for ten years.
