Roomzzz hotel fire: Police launch investigation into blaze at Leeds city centre hotel

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of a fire at a Leeds city centre hotel.

Emergency services were called to Roomzzz hotel in Swinegate after reports of a fire shortly before 10pm on Monday.

The hotel was fully evacuated and the fire was extinguished by crews from Leeds, Stanningley, Hunslet, Moortown and Killingbeck stations.

Supporting crews from Featherstone, Ilkley and Mirfield with associated specialist officers were also on the scene.

The fire was external and had spread to the four storey hotel, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

An investigation has now been launched into the incident.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said officers are working with the fire service to investigate the cause of the fire.
