Robbers armed with machetes target McColl’s convenience store on Leeds Selby Road

McColl's in Selby Road was targeted by the men, who were carrying machetes, shortly after 7pm on October 26.

Police say no-one was injured during the incident, but the suspects stole tobacco and cigarettes.

The men are thought to have escaped in a dark coloured vehicle.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are investigating an armed robbery, which occurred at a convenience store on Selby Road in Leeds just after 7pm yesterday (26/10) evening.

"Four men wearing balaclavas entered the store armed with machetes.

"No-one was injured during the incident, however, the suspects left with a quantity of tobacco and cigarettes.

"CCTV enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and a dark coloured vehicle, which is believed to have been used to make away from the scene.

"Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 1522 of 26/10 or use the live-chat facility available via the Force website."
