Rapist jailed for attacking woman in Leeds Travelodge hotel
A man has been jailed for raping a woman at a Leeds hotel.
Davinder Singh was convicted following a trial at Leeds Crown Court.
He had met the woman online and they agreed to book into the Travelodge Hotel on Blayds Yard in 2023.
The court heard there was consensual sexual activity during their stay, but Singh refused to stop when the woman told him to.

In a victim impact statement, read to the court by prosecutor Philip Standfast, the woman said she “froze” when being assaulted by Singh.
She said she was let feeling “dirty, embarrassed and stupid”. It left her feeling suicidal.
Singh, of Ridings Croft, Bradford, has no previous convictions for sex offences, but was jailed for 15 years in 2007 for drug trafficking.
Mitigating, Rukhshanda Hussain said that the 56-year-old continues to believe it was consensual. She said he was a “family man and not a violent man”.
Judge Penelope Belcher jailed him for five years and put him on the sex offender register for five years.
