A quad bike rider has been arrested for dangerous and drug driving after a police chase through Leeds.

A number of motorbikes and quad bikes were reported to police for causing havoc across the city on Sunday.

The Roads Policing Unit (RPU) set chase on the nuisance riders who had no helmets, were driving dangerously and not following coronavirus lockdown rules.

Officers followed the groups with help from a police helicopter before the riders split up.

One rider attempted to run and hide in a wood, but with the guidance of the helicopter RPU officers tracked them down.

The rider was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop, breaching an injunction, drug driving and breach of coronavirus legislation.

They await an interview and charges.
