Police to patrol The Springs Thorpe Park after thief caught with stolen property from shopping complex

East Leeds neighbourhood policing officers caught the thief yesterday with property they had stolen from one of the stores at The Springs.

Officers had been doing extra patrols in the area recently due to an increase in reported thefts from the Thorpe Park shopping complex.

Following Sunday's addition, the force has now said that these patrols will be maintained 'for the foreseeable' by 'uniformed and plain clothes officers'.

West Yorkshire Police revealed what had happened on social media in a post which said: "Local neighbourhood officers caught a thief yesterday having stolen property from one of the stores currently open at the springs shopping complex yesterday.

"Officers have been doing extra patrols in the area due to an increase in thefts being reported.

"Uniformed and plain clothes officers will be maintaining these added patrols for the foreseeable."
