Police seize illegal quad bikes in Leeds as rider attempts getaway
Police seized two illegal quad bikes in Leeds on Friday after spotting them being ridden "in an anti-social manner".
Officers from Morley were on patrol in the Tingley area when they saw the quad bikes.
They were able to communicate with nearby officers making them aware of the quads movement and the direction they were travelling towards, police said.
More officers arrived in the area and found the quad bikes - however the riders abandoned their vehicles and attempted a quick getaway after they saw the police.
After a short foot chase one rider of a quad was quickly detained, police confirmed.
Vehicle checks were conducted and discovered there was no insurance and the riders were not displaying a registration plate.
The driver was reported for the offence of driving a vehicle otherwise in accordance with their licence and will also be dealt with for various other driving offences, police said.
Due to these offences, both quad bikes were seized by officers.
