Police have released images of a man they want to identify over a brutal attack in Leeds city centre.

It happened just after 1am on New Year's Day on Albion Street.

A 22-year-old victim suffered a broken jaw after being punched in the face, in what police have called an "unprovoked" attack.

Officers are now looking to identify a white man with dark hair, pictured, in connection with the assault.

"We want to speak to him over an unprovoked attack, early hours of Jan 1 in Leeds, that left another man with a broken jaw.

"Images not the best but hoping someone will know him."

Anyone who recognises the suspect or who has any information should call Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13200001090 or online via the livechat.
