Police search after Volvo driver hit-and-run in Rothwell

A driver failed to stop for police before hitting another car and speeding off in Rothwell.

It happened at about 2pm on Sunday, May 9.

The driver of the silver Volvo S60 failed to stop when asked by police at a set of traffic lights in Marsh Street and reversed at speed into a car before driving away.

The Volvo was later found abandoned in the Rothwell Health Centre car park.

No injuries were reported.

The Eastern Roads Policing Unit is investigating the collision and they want to hear from anyone who may have seen the car, or who has footage of it being driven through the pedestrianised area of the town centre.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 101, or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.

The crime reference is 13210229002.
