Police scene at St James's Hospital Leeds as man has arm and hand slashed

There was a police scene at St James's Hospital in the early hours of this morning after a man turned up to A&E with serious slash wounds.

At about 12.50am, a man in his forties went to A&E with slashes to his arm and hand and was admitted to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

West Yorkshire Police were called and a car parked nearby was identified as being linked to the victim.

A police scene was put around the car and it was recovered by police for forensic examination.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Detectives are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
