Police raid Leeds home containing large and 'extremely dangerous' cannabis farm

Police found a large cannabis farm after forcing their way into a house in Beeston.

Officers from Inner South Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team raided the property on Saturday, June 19.

They found a large cannabis farm inside.

The electricity supply had also been bypassed.

Police said the way the electricity had been set up was "extremely dangerous" and was putting neighbouring properties at risk of fire.

The full police statement read: "On Saturday 19th June, officers from Inner South Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team acted on intelligence and forced entry into a residential property in Beeston.

"The property contained a large cannabis farm and the electricity supply had also been bypassed.

"The amateur electrical configuration was extremely dangerous and it was putting adjoining properties at risk through fire.

"If you have any information in relation to cannabis farms or any other form of criminality, please contact West Yorkshire Police on 101, on line or 999 in an emergency."
