Police launch urgent appeal after Swastika graffiti painted on Morley cenotaph

Police have launched an urgent appeal for information - after "highly offensive" symbols were painted on a cenotaph in Morley.

West Yorkshire Police said it has "been made aware that graffiti has appeared at the cenotaph in Morley."

They launched an appeal for anyone with details to assist the investigation to get in touch on 101 or via the online reporting tool.

The public has been reminded not to post any names on social media as this can hinder the prosecution at court.

Police are also enquiring for a rough time scale when the graffiti may have taken place.

The force said: "Some of the symbols are highly offensive in nature.

"If anyone has any details that will assist our investigation please can they contact us on 101 or via the online reporting tool on the WYP website.
