Police launch urgent appeal after 77-year-old woman dies after being hit by car

The crash happened on West gate End at the junction with Dewsbury Road and Horbury Road in Wakefield, at about 9.45pm on Saturday, October 10.

Nellie Loughlin, aged 77, of Wakefield, was taken to hospital after she was hit by a grey Audi A3, which was travelling away from Wakefield on the A6038 Horbury Road at the time.

Detectives in the Major Collision Enquiry Team are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw what happened prior to it to contact them.
