Police issue tickets at Horsforth Broadgate Primary School following dangerous parking at start and finish times

Police have patrolled outside a school in Horsforth following reports of dangerous parking at school start and finish times.

Special constables from north west Leeds visited Broadgate Primary School in Horsforth on Wednesday.

The officers issued three tickets to drivers who had stopped within the exclusion zone outside the school around the zebra, pelican and puffin crossings.

The motorists will each receive an online course which could turn into three points and a £100 fine depending on course eligibility.

Police have said they will be patrolling other schools in the area for similar issues and will take enforcement action where needed to ensure road safety.

The officers revealed what had happened in Horsforth in a social media post that said: "Yesterday (Wednesday), Special Constables attached to Leeds North West NPT visited Broadgate Primary School in Horsforth, following reports of dangerous parking at school start & finish times.

"Three tickets were issued for stopping within the exclusion zone around a Zebra / Pelican / Puffin Crossing. Each driver will receive an online course; however, dependent on the driver's eligibility, it can be three points and a £100 fine.

"We will be patrolling other local schools for similar issues & will take enforcement action where required, in order to ensure our roads are safe."
