Police hunt men after cigarettes and booze swiped from Elland Road Tesco

Police are trying to track down three men after cigarettes and alcohol were stolen from a Tesco on Elland Road.

Officers were called on Wednesday by a member of the public reporting CCTV footage from Back Green, Churwell, from shortly after 12pm that day of three men acting suspiciously with one carrying an item.

Video footage shared on social media showed the moment the men drove off in a blue Ford Focus.

Police are trying to track down three men after cigarettes and alcohol were stolen from a Tesco on Elland Road.

This is now being linked to the theft of a large amount of cigarettes and alcohol which was stolen from the nearby Tesco Express store in Elland Road at the same time, police confirmed.

The suspect requested the items as a customer but left the shop without paying.

He was described as white, aged 24 to 27, about 6ft tall, medium build, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a red Adidas jacket with white stripes down the arms, police said.

Enquiries are ongoing.
