Ludo assisted Surrey Police officers in apprehending the two men from Leeds caught at Cobham Services, Surrey.

The men are suspected of stealing from a lorry and being in possession of a stolen van, police said.

Ludo used his 'talents' to chase the suspects after they fled the scene in the early hours of Thursday morning at around 2.30am.

Police said PD Ludo "tracked their scent down the slip road, up steps and down the side of an electricity substation, at which point the suspects gave themselves up".

The men were arrested and released on police bail.

In a post, Surrey Police said: "Ludo, one of our fantastic police dogs has been demonstrating his talents yet again, by helping officers to apprehend two men suspected of stealing from a lorry and being in possession of a stolen van, at Cobham Services.

"The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, 25 March, (at around 2.30am) and after the two suspects fled the scene, PD Ludo tracked their scent down the slip road, up steps and down the side of an electricity substation, at which point the suspects gave themselves up.

"The two men from Leeds were subsequently arrested and released on police bail. Well done Ludo!"
