Police discover £1million cannabis farm in West Yorkshire city centre business

Police discovered a £1million cannabis farm in a West Yorkshire city centre business linked to serious organised crime and human trafficking.

Officers stormed the Wakefield city centre business premises on January 19 after a tip off.

Police surrounded the building before discovering seven men inside - alongside more than £1million of plants.

All of the men were arrested by police.

An eight suspect was also arrested a short time later for the offence and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, police confirmed.

In the early hours of this morning 3 of the suspects were charged and remanded for being concerned in the production of cannabis.

Evidence at the scene, and during the investigation, has identified that the cannabis factory is linked to serious organised crime and human trafficking.
