Police deployed after children spotted playing on M1 in West Yorkshire

Highways England launched an urgent plea for children to not play on the motorway - after a pair were spotted on the M1 in Yorkshire.

In a tweet, Highways Yorkshire said: "Schools are out due to #Covid_19.

"Sadly it has not taken taken long for children to come playing on the motorway.

"Parents - our plea is for you to talk to your children to alert them of the dangers of the fast moving road.
