Police check 80 vehicles, seize cars and warn drivers during Wetherby road safety patrols

Police have checked a total of 80 vehicles during road safety patrols in Leeds.

Two vehicles were seized for having no tax or insurance during the road safety work in Wetherby.

One motorist was found to be speeding during the checks.

Police also warned 'several' drivers for not wearing a seatbelt.

This was part of the latest road safety work that north east Leeds officers have conducted in the Wetherby area.

A north east Leeds police officer revealed the results of the checks on social media: "Good morning, here are some pictures from our latest road safety work in the Wetherby area.

"80 vehicles were checked and 2 were seized for no tax and insurance.

"One motorist was found to be speeding and several drivers were warned for not wearing a seatbelt. #fatal4"
