Police catch speeding drivers after setting up cameras on these two Leeds roads today

Police have caught a number of drivers speeding in east Leeds today.

Officers set up cameras on Temple Newsam Road and Selby Road after receiving complaints of drivers breaking the speed limits in the area.

PSCOs from the Temple Newsam and Halton Neighborhood Policing Team caught a number of drivers speeding over the 40mph limit on Selby Road.

In a warning to drivers on Facebook, the team said: "No vehicles were found to be speeding on Temple Newsam Road but a number of vehicles on Selby Road were caught speeding in excess of the 40mph speed limit at the location.

"Follow up action will be taken in relation to those caught speeding today.

"Please adhere to the speed limits."

It follows a West Yorkshire Police operation in Bramley yesterday which saw a number of drivers issued with warnings.

Officers stopped about 50 drivers on Leeds and Bradford Road to check their documents.

One driver was issued with a ticket for driving without a valid MOT test certificate and one document producer was given requiring the driver to produce their documents at a police station for a more detailed inspection.
