Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Unit attended Guiseley, Yeadon, Hawksworth & Menston on Saturday.

One driver was caught and summoned to court after being caught at 38mph on a stretch of road outside a primary school, police said.

This was almost double the 20mph speed limit on the road.

'Hawksworth's 20mph zone is there for a reason - It is a very narrow road, in a small village, with a primary school situated on it. Please ensure you are sticking to the speed limits at all times, regardless of whether it's school-time or not.''Hawksworth's 20mph zone is there for a reason - It is a very narrow road, in a small village, with a primary school situated on it.
