Police called to Leeds bridge over concern for safety and close M621 in both directions

Police were called to a bridge in Leeds on Tuesday over a report of a concern for safety of a member of the public.

Police shut the M621 motorway in Leeds between junctions 3 and 4 on Tuesday after a report for a concern for safety of a member of the public.

The incident led to delays on the road and bus diversions around Admiral Street in Leeds.

Police said that the road has since fully reopened and traffic is now back to normal. Knock-on delays had initially been reported around the A653.

Bus services were also affected. First West Yorkshire tweeted that services 2/3/3A 10 12/13/13A are operating with delays of up to 50 minutes and services 47/51/52 are delayed by up to 20 minutes.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the M621 incident was related to a member of the public's safety.

The spokesman said: "Police attended a call for safety at a bridge at Admiral Street in Leeds.

"The incident has now concluded and road closures have been lifted."
