Police arrested a 13-year-old West Yorkshire teen for carrying a huge kitchen knife.

On August 9, officers from Operation Jemlock - a unit tackling knife crime - attended a report of a teenager carrying a knife.

The officers in Huddersfield stopped and searched the 13-year-old.

The teen was found to be carrying a large kitchen knife.

He was hiding the knife inside his jacket pocket, police said.

The teen was arrested.

Operation Jemlock tweeted: "#OpJemlock officers at #Huddersfield attend a report of a male carrying a knife.

"A 13yo male is stopped and searched. He is found to be carrying a large kitchen knife which he was hiding in his inside jacket pocket resulting in his arrest.

"#LivesNotKnives"
