Police appeal as elderly woman suffers serious head injuries in York Road crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash seriously injured an elderly woman on York Road.

It happened at 3.17pm on Thursday, outside the Post Office near the junction with Rookwood Avenue.

An 88-year-old pedestrian was hit by a blue Vauxhall Astra.

She was taken to hospital with serious head injuries, but they are not believed to be life threatening.

She remains in hospital being treated.

West Yorkshire Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the collision or may have dash cam footage to contact them.
