Leeds paedophile who downloaded masochistic images avoids jail

A paedophile was caught in possession of hundreds of videos and images, including a recording of a baby being sexually tortured.

Zachary Oldfield also downloaded a video of an electric drill being used on a man’s genitals.

The pervert received a suspended sentence at Leeds Crown Court this week, largely due to his lack of previous convictions.

The National Crime Agency had tipped off West Yorkshire Police about illegal activity at an address in Tingley.

Police arrested Oldfield at the address and seized his mobile phone.

Oldfield, of Bluebell Road, East Ardsley, admitted three counts of making indecent photographs and two of possessing extreme pornography.

He has one previous conviction for drink driving.

Mitigating, Oliver Connor said Oldfield works at a recruitment agency and had done since leaving school.

He said that he had self-referred to Forward Leeds about his drinking was still having therapy.

Judge Richard Mansell KC said he remained “sceptical” about Oldfield’s claims that had no sexual interest in children.

He gave him an 18-month sentence, suspended for 18 months.

He told him to complete 25 rehabilitation days with probation and 100 hours of unpaid work.

He was put on the sex offender register for 10 years and given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) to curb his internet use.
