Officers responding to incident in east Leeds uncover large cannabis farm with 450 plants

Police have uncovered a large cannabis farm in east Leeds.

It was located in a building on Thornleigh Mount, Cross Green, on Monday February 22.

Officers from the Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were responding to an unrelated incident on the street.

They discovered the large cannabis farm and called in for backup.

Around 450 plants were seized by police.

In a statement issued on Facebook, the Leeds East NPT said: "On Monday February 22, a large cannabis farm was located at an address on Thornleigh Mount in Leeds.

"The cannabis farm was discovered by officers from Team 5 response who were attending an unrelated report at the location.

"Neighbourhood Policing Team 3 officers assisted at the address, where approximately 450 plants were seized and enquiries are ongoing at this time.
