Nursery-working Leeds paedophile given another two years in prison for faking references

He applied for another job after his arrest

A paedophile jailed for faking references to land nursery roles was found to have forged further documents after his arrest, and land another job.

Kristian Perry was handed a two-year sentence in March after admitting fraud and possessing thousands of abuse images on his phone.

This was increased by a further 20 months at the Court of Appeal in September after it was found to be unduly lenient because he had access to children at the time.

He had first been sacked from a nursery in June 2024 because of his drinking.

It was then found that he had fabricated two references to land the job at the second nursery, where he had been working for 10 months before his arrest.

Once released, he forged another set of documents to land the third role.

The 27-year-old was returned to Leeds Crown Court this afternoon after it was found he used bogus email addresses and documents for that job while he was under investigation by police.

Appearing in court over a video link from HMP Millsike near York, he admitted a fresh fraud charge.

Astonishingly, Parry was found to have successfully conned his way into the new job despite his arrest, but failed his probationary period and was let go after less than three months.

Mitigating Thomas Doyle said his best point was his early guilty plea.

He added: “He knows it’s going to be consecutive to what he is already serving.”

Judge Howard Crowson told him: “If the truth had been known you would never have been allowed inside the building.

“I’m in no doubt you pose a serious threat to the safety of children.”

He said it was clearly work with children to whom he has a sexual interest.

He handed Parry a new 24-month sentence, which will only begin when his existing 44-month sentence expires.

Parry, formerly of Sissons Terrace, Middleton, was first arrested after police were alerted to his illegal online activities in May last year.

His Samsung phone was analysed and found to contain 871 Category A images and videos.

There were also 1,187 Category B, 3,263 in Category C and 52 prohibited images. Many were of young babies and toddlers.

It was also found he had been communicating with other perverts online, was accessing the dark web and “clearly” had an interest in children in nappies.

There was no evidence that any of the children in his care were abused.
