Motorbike rider on the run after woman seriously injured in Leeds crash

Police are searching for a motorbike rider after a woman was seriously injured in a fail to stop crash.

The crash happened just after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday) on The Green in Seacroft.

A blue and white BMW motorbike hit a pedestrian, a 29-year-old woman, and failed to stop at the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and police closed part of The Green, Old York Road and Hansby Gate for more than four hours.

Police are now searching for the motorbike rider, described as a stocky white male wearing a dark coloured tracksuit.

Detective Inspector Al Burns, of Leeds District CID, said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw a blue and white BMW motorbike prior to the collision to come forward.

"The rider of the motorcycle has been described as a white male, 5ft11 tall, stocky build and wearing a dark coloured tracksuit."
