Man suffers serious injuries after stabbing near Harehills Asda

Police are investigating a stabbing they believe happened in Harehills in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were called to St James's Hospital at 5.20am this morning (Saturday) to reports of a man having been stabbed.

Police think the incident happened in Harehills Lane, near Asda, earlier in the morning.

The man suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The road was blocked in both directions on Saturday morning while officers carried out their enquiries.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call police on 101 quoting log 311 of today."
