Man seriously injured in hospital after crash near McDonald's on Ring Road in Horsforth

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Ring Road in Leeds.

It happened at about 8.40am on Tuesday, September 29 on the Ring Road in Horsforth, close to the McDonald's restaurant.

It involved a blue Chevrolet Spark and a blue Ford Eco Sport.

A man who was a passenger in the Chevrolet Spark suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.

He remains in hospital.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone with dash cam footage of the vehicles prior to it is asked to contact PC 630 Asghar of the Eastern Roads Policing Unit on 101 or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website, referencing log 309 of 29 September.

There was a second crash in the same area later that day, involving a car and a HGV lorry.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service were called to the Ring Road near Lawnswood School at about 8.30pm.

Firefighters had to rescue the person after they became trapped.

The injured person was rescued from the car by firefighters from Moortown and Cookridge stations.

They were taken to hospital by ambulance.
