Man seriously injured after punching a window on a street in Roundhay

A cordon was erected next to a parade of shops and restaurants on Street Lane in Roundhay after the incident on nearby Shaftesbury Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning.

West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to reports of a concern of safety of Shaftsbury Avenue in the early hours of Saturday January 16.

"Emergency services including an ambulance attended.

"A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after sustaining a serious cut to his own arm after punching a window.

"He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

"A police cordon was in place this morning but has since been closed."
