Man on run for nine months caught in Leeds by West Yorkshire police horse on first day of service

A man who evaded police for more than nine months was caught in Leeds today - after being chased by a new horse on the West Yorkshire force.

West Yorkshire Police Horses twitter account shared a picture of the new lineup of Lola, Ledston, Coley and recruit Baxter.

Baxter 'got involved in his first chase' while out on patrol in Leeds today, police said.

A man was arrested for recall to prison and two further offences.

The suspect had been on the run from Merseyside since August 2019, police confirmed.
