Man injured as pair run away after early morning crash on Kirkstall Road

Two people ran from a crash scene on Kirkstall Road in the early hours of this morning (Friday).

The crash was between an orange Ford Focus and a grey Audi A6 Estate, near the junction with Willow Road.

Police were called at 5.13am.

A man and a woman ran from one of the cars down Kirkstall Road towards Cardigan Fields.

One man was taken to hospital with chest pains.

Enquiries are continuing into the incident.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "At 5.13am today (Friday), police received a report of a two vehicle collision in Kirkstall Road in Leeds, where two people had ran off.

"The male and female were believed to have ran off towards Cardigan Fields.

"One male was taken to hospital with chest pains.

"Both vehicles, an orange Ford Focus and a grey Audi A6 Estate, were recovered.

"Enquiries are continuing."
