Man facing prison sentence after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving over pedestrian hit by car on Stanningley Road

Nathan Pickersgill, 23, pleaded guilty to the offence over the death of Shane Grimes when he appeared before Leeds Crown Court.
Mr Grimes, 30, from Bramley, died at the scene of the crash in Stanningley Road at its junction with Armley Grange Drive on July 13, 2019.

Hide AdHe had been a pedestrian hit by a blue Skoda Fabia being driven by Pickersgill at 10.58pm on Saturday July 13th.
The Skoda was travelling away from Leeds towards Stanningley Bypass.
Pickersgill appeared before the court yesterday (January 14) where he entered a guilty plea to causing death by dangerous driving.
His barrister, Christopher Dunn, asked for sentencing to be adjourned for the preparation of reports.

Hide AdJudge Robin Mairs adjourned the case for sentencing on March 11 and granted Pickersgill bail until the next hearing.
He told the defendant: "This will be a custodial sentence. Prepare yourself for that."
Following Mr Grimes' death, floral tributes were left near to the scene.
A message attached to one of the tributes read: "Rest in peace, sending our thoughts and prayers to the family, sleep tight xxx."
