A man is due to appear in court this morning charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Leeds.

Paul Kavanagh, 57, of Bismarck Street, Leeds, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court charged with the murder of Jamie Giles, aged 51, who died after being stabbed at an address in Bismarck Street on Thursday, April 8.

At 11:53pm on Thursday (April 8), police were called to a report of a man having been stabbed at an address in Bismarck Street, Beeston.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.

A scene was put in place at the address to undergo forensic examination.

The investigation is being progressed by detectives from West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
